Ruby is employed by Maria Austen as a Junior Barrister. She joined Kānuka Chambers as a Law Clerk in June 2025 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in September 2025.

Ruby holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Politics) from the University of Otago, and completed her final semester abroad at the University of Bristol.

Before joining Kānuka Chambers, Ruby gained experience in both litigation and commercial practice. She has a particular interest in public and employment law and enjoys working with private and public sector clients providing solutions focused advice.
